Dear Parents
On the 137th anniversary of the founding of Collegiate it gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Mrs Melita Bagshaw as the new Principal of the school.
Melita Bagshaw comes to Collegiate from Pretoria Girls’ High School where she has held the position of Deputy Principal for 12 years.
She holds a B.A. Education majoring in Music and Mathematics and a Diploma in Music, both from Pretoria University. She has a strong background in Music having taught for 4 years, performed with the SABC orchestra and the PACT orchestra. She has also held the positions of Head of Mathematics and Head of Academics at Pretoria Girls’ High School.
Melita Bagshaw will join the staff of Collegiate High School from the 1st of July 2011.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking the Selection Committee and the Governing Body members for their contribution to this protracted recruitment process. I would also like to table special thanks to Mrs Faith Biggs for her tireless efforts in assisting us as the Acting Principal since January 2010. Mrs Biggs will relinquish her duties as Acting Principal from 30 June 2011.
I am sure you will all join me in wishing Melita Bagshaw success in her new appointment and meeting the challenges of leading one of the great girl’s schools in South Africa.
