South African National Equestrian School Association (Sanesa) School and individual results from the 2011 season.
Collegiate High School for Girls’ equestrian team scored the most points and came out tops in the high school team competition of the South African National Equestrian School Association (Sanesa) 2011 Regional Finals in Grahamstown recently.
Collegiate also bagged first spot in the Eastern Province high schools’ Dressage contest and first spot in the Eastern Province high schools’ Showing contest.
Last year, only one rider in the whole of the Eastern Province competed in all four qualifiers but this year there were nine, including Collegiate High’s Anne Fulton.
The Inter Regional Competition between Border and EP was won by EP for the second year. EP won with 336 points and Border 284 points.
Sanesa is taking 38 EP junior and high school riders and their mounts to the Nationals in Gauteng in August.
The Eastern Cape High School team representing their province in Gauteng includes Collegiate High School riders; Anne Fulton, Catherine Fulton and Caitlin Shone.
Collegiate riders who participated in some or all of the qualifiers and were placed, earning points for the school and securing it’s first place, were: Brinleigh Barclay, Alexandra Bowes, Hannah Campbell, Anne Fulton, Catherine Fulton, Claire Gomes, Lauren Parker, Caitlin Shone, Ashleigh Samuels, Brittany Straton and Amy Taylor.
At the regional finals, the level 0 horse-rider combination first place for a high school rider went to Claire Gomes of Collegiate.
Certificates of excellence for Team First Place in Dressage and Showing were awarded to Brinleigh Barclay, Alexandra Bowes, Hannah Campbell, Anne Fulton, Catherine Fulton, Claire Gomes, Lauren Parker, Caitlin Shone, Brittany Straton and Amy Taylor.
