ACHIEVEMENT – SCIENCE EXPO

1. Scroll: Gr8 and 9: Selection for and participation at National Science Expo.  Gr10, 11 or 12: Gold or bursary winner at local Expo. 
2. Silver Bar: Gr 8 and 9: Winners of Gold, Silver or Bronze or a Special Award at Nationals. Gr10, 11 or 12: Selection for and participation at National Science Expo.
3. Blazer: Winner of Gold, Silver or a Special Award at National Science Expo. (only if in Grades 10, 11 or 12)

Re-qualification for a Blazer will earn Ivy Leaves.

ACHIEVEMENT – ALL SUBJECT OLYMPIADS

The achievement is assessed according to numbers of entries and subject-related standards.

1. Scroll: Come in top 5% of entries provided a minimum standard for award (relevant for subject) is attained.
2. Silver Bar: Come in top 5% of entries provided a minimum standard for award (relevant for subject) is attained.
   OR
   Come in top 3% of entries provided a minimum standard for award (relevant for subject) is attained.
3. Blazer: Come in top 1% of entries provided a minimum standard for award (relevant for subject) is attained.

NOTE:  Each subject Olympiad has its own award system and the minimum standard required for a scroll and bar is to be motivated by the subject teacher and approved by the awards committee. 

ACHIEVEMENT – OTHER SUBJECT RELATED ACHIEVEMENTS

Should girls achieve in other academic competitions of a comparable standard and number of entries, they will be eligible for consideration for awards on the same basis as for Expos and Olympiads. (Local Eisteddfods are not considered.)

Blazer : Overall Winner or runner-up at National All Girls Festival OR Represent Eastern Cape at National Sacee Public Speaking Competition
