Music centre

A special project is being planned under the auspices of the Legacy Project. The proposed Music Centre, designed by Millennia Architects, will be situated behind the gym Hall, between the tennis and squash courts. It will provide rehearsal rooms for the bands, choir and various ensembles, as well as individual and class teaching rooms. It has also been designed in such a way that a second-floor auditorium, as well as drama, art and dance studios can be added in a second phase so that this building would become a central ‘hub’ of all the performing arts.

The 2024 Collegia Trust Legacy Project

The facility will primarily be a teaching venue, but the design allows for small gatherings and performances to be held for parents or the public. As such, the band and choir large rehearsal venue has been designed to open up into a small performance venue with seating for a small audience.

The Collegia Trust exists to secure additional revenue and investments that will help fund projects, to ensure Collegiate continues to provide excellent educational opportunities for generations to come.

It is under these auspices that we would like to inform you that sponsorship opportunities are available in the Music Centre in the form of:

  • Donations
  • Learners' legacy (current and past learners)
  • Naming rights of venues and the entire Music Centre

Any company or individual that donates funds to the Music Centre will have their name printed on a plaque and displayed on a donor wall in their honour.

The Collegia Trust is registered as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) with registration no. 930054469. Donations made into the trust are eligible for a tax deduction of up to 10% of the donor’s annual taxable income, in accordance with Section 18A of the Income Tax Act. A Section 18A tax certificate will be issued on request to South African donors.

We would be honoured if you would consider contributing towards the Music Centre, turning it into a reality and thus leaving a legacy for generations to come.
