THE GET CURRICULUM FOR GRADES EIGHT AND NINE

  • English Home Language
  • Afrikaans First Additional Language or isiXhosa First Additional Language
  • Mathematics
  • Natural Sciences
  • Economic Management Sciences
  • Social Sciences
  • Technology
  • Creative Arts: Choice of two from Drama, Visual Arts and Music
  • Life Orientation

In addition to this, pupils choose between French Second Additional Language and isiXhosa Second Additional Language.

There is also a Learner Support Programme for Mathematics in the school morning, and Language tutoring by teachers in the afternoons.

THE FET CURRICULUM FOR GRADES TEN, ELEVEN AND TWELVE

  1. English (Home Language)
  2. Afrikaans (First Additional Language) OR isiXhosa (First Additional Language)      
  3. Mathematics OR Mathematical Literacy
  4. Life Orientation
  5. Three electives chosen from the following:
    1. Computer Applications Technology
    2.  Information Technology
    3. Life Sciences 
    4. Geography
    5. Physical Sciences
    6. Accounting
    7. French Second Additional Language)
    8. Consumer Studies
    9. History
    10. Music
    11. Dramatic Arts  

(NB Music ONLY if pupil has completed Royal Schools /Trinity Grade 3 PRACTICAL & THEORETICAL) 

  1. Physical Sciences and Accounting may only be taken with Mathematics
  2. The additional subjects of “Advanced Programme English” and “Advanced Programme Mathematics”, examined by the IEB, are offered.
  3. Girls may apply to take Dance Studies as an eighth subject
